About the job

The Food Service team is looking for a Food Service Procurement Coordinator (Emergine Careers) who is a team player that can work independently while providing high quality output.  This individual will utilize their problem-solving skills, strong customer focus and analytical skills to assist the procurement team. 

 

As a Food Service Procurement Coordinator (Emerging Careers), you will:

  • Source food and supplies according to Food Service standards including cost comparison, quality assessment, and availability/logistics.
  • Place orders for food-related products and services from multiple contracted suppliers according to food service requisitions.
  • Unpack and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Verify that quality, size and quantity of delivery meet specifications and that the price on the invoice agrees with purchase order.
  • Maintain records of received goods, noting defects and rejecting unsatisfactory items.
  • Post credits for items not received or refused.
  • Examine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory.
  • Process internal customer orders and shipments to meet specified deadlines and schedules, to include pick-up and delivery of items.
  • Process invoices for payment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Typically requires previous clerical experience, which may include order processing and/or inventory control.
  • Associate's degree in Inventory Control, Purchasing, Business Administration, or Accounting or Warehouse operating experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required to operate a company vehicle periodically.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Ability to perform detailed tasks accurately and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exhibits interpersonal skills with suppliers, customers, and employees.
  • Ability to interact productively with people in a customer service format.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior food service experience.
  • Good skills using computer hardware and a user’s knowledge of various software applications.
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • ServSafe or Equivalent Certification.
