About the job

The R&D team is looking for a Sr Associate Project Manager to manage the development and implementation process of the company’s R&D products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams from inception through delivery of new or existing products. Plans and directs schedules of interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule which meet or exceed project stakeholder expectations, including agreed-to scope and quality.

 

 

As a Sr Associate Project Manager, you will:

 

  • Complete deadline-driven, team-based projects. Responsible for facilitating overall project objectives, goals and project requirements. Work with team and stakeholders to define project scope and goals.
  • Plan, prioritize, implement and adjust delivery schedule, scope, resourcing, and quality, based on individual project requirements per consultation with project stakeholders.
  • Negotiate resource needs and coordinates technical resources for assigned projects, including both domestic and international resources.
  • Maintain project documentation such as project plans, schedules, issue lists, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and facilitate activities between team members and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and manage conflict. Coordinate risk mitigation activity and escalates as appropriate. Manage project scope and expectations. Identifies and constructively negotiates conflicts or areas of high risk
  • Leverage methodologies, processes, project tools, and best practices to accelerate project delivery.
  • Identify project dependencies and stakeholder influences, working jointly with other organizations who share responsibility for delivery of final product. Act as central point of contact and interfaces with interested parties across the Company, such as Legal, Marketing and SAS.com to ensure project success. 

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Two years of project management experience in assigned functional area. Experience with SAS software preferred. Some programming or systems design experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
