The SAS Health Care Center (HCC) is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team! Since 1984, the HCC has proudly delivered the highest quality healthcare, whether managing complex chronic conditions, treating acute illnesses or injuries, or administering routine immunizations. And because we are a family practice, we care for all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. In this role, you will, teach and counsel patients; as well as plan, implement, direct and evaluate nursing care.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will:
- Assist with patient check-ins at the Health Care Center (HCC), takes vital signs, and prepares patients for their exam.
- Report and record appropriate patient data.
- Assist with medical procedures (e.g. suturing, biopsies) and patient exams, as needed.
- Perform routine patient procedures, such as injections, wound care, first aid, uncomplicated suture removal, EKGs, pediatric hearing tests, vision exams, etc.
- Provide telephone advice to patients, following established protocols.
- Follow established Health Care Center procedures regarding prescription refills.
- Make referrals to community specialists, as needed and maintain appropriate paperwork.
- Stock examination room and order supplies.
- Represents the clinical support team on Health Care Center decision-making groups.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications
- Four years of experience as a licensed practical nurse, including at least two years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Completion of an approved licensed practical nurse education program.
- Current unrestricted North Carolina license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Excellent knowledge of routine nursing procedures in a primary care office setting; previous experience or passion for Family Practice.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

- Decision Making - Identifying and understanding problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information; choosing the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generating and evaluating alternatives, and making timely decisions; taking action that is consistent with available facts and constraints and optimizes probable consequences.
- Collaboration - Working cooperatively with others to help a team or work group achieve its goals.
- Excellent nursing skills, including history taking and triage.
- Experience with allergy injection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Professional appearance and the ability to provide a comfortable and reassuring atmosphere for patients.
