About the job

The SAS Cloud Operations team is looking for an experienced Manager of Cloud Operations to lead a diverse technical team of our strongest experts supporting SAS software, Azure, AWS, and GCP cloud infrastructure technologies.  In this role you will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, optimizing processes, and ensuring the smooth functioning of workflow and procedures. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in cloud technologies, and a keen focus on delivering exceptional service to our clients. SAS Cloud is growing rapidly. We need your tenacious and energetic leadership to fuel our success!

 

As a Manager, Managed Cloud Operations you will:

  • Lead a technically diverse team in complex customer environments to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with teams across SAS to improve our products based on customer experiences.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze KPIs related to the SAS Cloud Operational service.
  • Ensure compliance with Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) by monitoring and managing service delivery against agreed-upon performance targets, such as incident resolution times and service request fulfillment.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations, automate repetitive tasks, and improve efficiency across all aspects of cloud hosting operations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure a high-performing and motivated workforce.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to protect our clients' data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Ensure your department follows documented Change Management policy.
  • Set performance goals/standards/objectives for the team. Perform all management responsibilities for the team including coaching and development.

 

Required qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in at least one major CSP (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.), providing application support, and/or technical consulting.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with 2 years in a formal management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience in infrastructure, network, or storage management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with SAS systems or SAS programming.
  • 5+ Years of Operational Leadership Experience, including managing KPIs relative to hosted service delivery.
