The Risk Data and Analytics (RD&A) team is part of the Risk Research and Quantitative Analysis Division at SASThe primary product of the RD&A team is KRIS® our proprietary data service which licenses default, spread and ratings data for risk as well as investment managers on a global basisThe key to licensing the data is our ability to demonstrate use cases showing how the data provides advance warning of default or trading opportunities for portfolio managers in the fixed income and equity markets. 

 

As an intern, you might: 

  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and data scientists on the implementation and backtesting of credit risk and default probability models. 
  • Support the development of data validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure data quality and integrity across sources. 
  • Participate in testing and deployment of enhancements to the data and model infrastructure. 
  • Contribute to the documentation of data workflows, model specifications, and validation logic.  

 

Required Qualifications 

  • You’re an undergraduate or Master's college student enrolled in an accredited program studying Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field, and not graduating prior to December 2026.
  • Experience with Python, MSSQL, and SAS
  • You’re curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do. 
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal. 
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you’ll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You’re interested in the future of AI and embrace technology.

  • General knowledge of macro and market data

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
