 The IoT Division at SAS is a vertically integrated line of business charged with innovation: innovation in products and solutions and innovation around market engagement.   

We are looking for a curious and innovative candidate who believes that AI can make a real difference for IoT applications.  Within our Strategy and Product Innovation & Engineering team, we are developing a brand-new paradigm in delivering AI and IoT applications.   

As an intern, you might:  

• Research and Conduct proof of concept focused on AI capabilities including language models, embedding models, Agentic frameworks, RAG and NLP techniques.  
• Develop Application prototypes for new feature ideas  
• Support packaging and deployment of AI and IoT applications  
• Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Industry advisory teams  

Required Qualifications  

• You are a Graduate student studying Computer Science or a related field, not graduating prior to December 2026.  
• Strong Python experience with knowledge of multithreading and object-oriented programming. 
• Good knowledge of Generative AI technologies such as language models, embedding models, Agentic frameworks and NLP techniques.  
• Familiarity with Application development technologies such React, GoLang, APIs.  
• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Familiarity with cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) 

• Understanding of model inferencing and optimization techniques 

• DevOps understanding   

Timeline

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant’s year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 – $31 for associate’s/bachelor’s level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master’s/Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
