About the job

The Migration Division is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to design, build, and support, scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and test suites to ensure quality within expected timelines during the development cycle.

 

Our team is responsible for the software that helps our customers move from SAS9 and earlier versions of SAS Viya to the latest versions of SAS Viya.  Customers choose to move at their own pace and according to their own processes, and our software needs to provide the flexibility they require. Encouraging customers to be on the latest versions of our software not only provides them with access to the latest and greatest features of SAS Viya, but it is also critical to our success as a company.  This is an entry level development role utilizing many industry standard and leading technologies and we are looking for someone to join, learn, and grow with us.

    

As a Software Development Engineer in Test- Emerging Careers, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain high quality test automation using modern development techniques and provides key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Apply automated tests at every layer of the application stack, both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Design, develop, document, and execute manual tests when automated scripts are not available.
  • Produce and analyze metrics that illustrate the quality of applications and develop insight that drives the direction of quality engineering.
  • Work with team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
  • Engage in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
  • Understands the role of deployment, migration, security, and performance in the continuous delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
  • Experience writing software applications, testing software, and/or general programming
  • Experience programming software in a high level language (for example Java, C, C++ or Go)
  • Experience deploying software
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
