Summary of Duties:  SAS Institute, Inc. seeks a Technical Consultant to provide consulting services, including solution development, implementation, and project closeout at customer sites. Work and collaborate with others on consulting projects and special projects. Provide reliable delivery of target project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, projects, and technologies. Provide deep knowledge and experience with SAS solutions including solution configuration, campaign building, solution functionality, and troubleshooting. Map customer requirements and solution design to SAS solutions using different tools, techniques, and interfaces. Leverage detailed technical and functional knowledge to support sales opportunities and implementations across solution domains. Understand, utilize, and communicate best practice methodologies and industry standards internally and externally. Participate in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings. May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.

 

Qualifications:  Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Actuarial Science, or related field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Quantitative Analytics Associate, SAS Developer, Business Intelligence Developer, or related occupation or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Actuarial Science, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience as a Quantitative Analytics Associate, SAS Developer, Business Intelligence Developer, or related occupation.

 

Requires extensive experience working with SAS solutions and developing SAS programs. Requires demonstrated experience with SAS Viya and SAS 9.x platforms in multiple environments. Requires demonstrated experience creating, managing, optimizing and automating ETL processes, including management of in-memory data with the SAS CAS engine. Requires demonstrated experience leveraging industry standard CI/CD tools, including Git. Requires demonstrated experience designing and implementing data models in support of analytical processes. Requires demonstrated experience working with multiple databases. Requires demonstrated experience designing and creating complex reports and dashboards using the SAS BI solutions, including extensive experience with SAS Visual Analytics. Requires proficiency using Linux-based operating systems. Requires demonstrated experience in a customer facing position and excellent communication skills.
