Schedule: Monday – Tuesday 10:00am – 6:00pm and Wednesday-Thursday 6:30 am-2:30 PM – Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

About the job   

 

The Recreation and Fitness Center (RFC) is looking for an Associate Recreation and Fitness Program Coordinator to develop, organize, and implement a variety of programs within the areas of Personal Training, Group Exercise, Fitness and Wellness.  Our team offers activities and programs to meet the emotional, physical and social well-being needs of SAS employees.     

 

As an Associate Recreation and Fitness Program Coordinator you will:   

 

  • Develop individual personal training programs 
  • Teach aerobics/exercise classes as needed.
  • Create and plan fitness and wellness challenges and programs
  • Prepare advertisements, including newsletter updates and program announcements
  • Assist, maintain and improve current Recreation and Fitness Center (RFC) employee programs.
  • Advises participants on program and class procedures and policies, as appropriate.
  • Supervise facilities as necessary. Perform general office duties: answering phone calls, handling employee questions, assisting in facility preparation for specific activities, etc.
  • Assist with the general maintenance of facilities. Maintain facility equipment as required.

Required qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fitness, Recreation, Sports or related field. 
  • Some experience in fitness/wellness, recreation or sports related programs. 
  • Certified Personal Trainer
  • Certified Group Exercise Instructor
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

 

Additional competencies, knowledge and skills  

 

  • Yoga Certification
  • Wellness programming experience
  • Aquatic Instruction and/or aquatic programming experience
  • CPR, First Aid and AED Certification
  • Choreography based exercise class experience
  • Customer service experience
