Timeline

  • Applications: September 2017- February 2018
  • Interviews: November 2017-April 2018 on a rolling basis.
  • Internship: 10-12 weeks. Starts dates for the summer intern program are May 15, 2018 or June 12, 2018.

 Software Development

Our industry-leading software is developed by some of the most talented programmers in the world. As a Software Development Intern, you would be working on a project related to the design and development of SAS software for new and existing products in accordance with designated development practices, timelines and quality expectations. Do you love to program and generate high-quality code? Does working on a team of top-notch developers sound exciting to you?

Software Quality Tester

SAS products are known by our customers for their outstanding quality. We have teams of highly-talented engineers who work to detect issues early, resolve them quickly and avoid future problems. As a Software Quality Testing Intern, you would be working to make ensure our SAS products and solutions are keeping our customers satisfied by testing processes, standards, and best practices through scripting and development of testing tools.

Cyber Analytics Research and Development

SAS Cybersecurity arms organizations with an essential layer of business-relevant cyber analytics that heightens the intelligence of their existing security infrastructures. As an intern in Cyber Research and Development, your work will contribute to a cutting edge SAS Cyber Analytics solution.  Do you think outside of the box? Product Management

SAS Product Management is a global department which strives to deliver market-driven offerings, improve capabilities through continuous employee development, effectively manage the product portfolio, communicate product content and knowledge to internal constituents, and support external presence of SAS and our offerings. As a Product Management Intern, you will act as a technical resource for helping support prototypes, new machine learning, and advanced analytics technologies.  You may be evaluating competitive features of the software or contributing technical content to customer facing collateral and white papers. Do you have a technology background, but enjoy the inner workings of business, too? Risk Management

SAS Risk Management strikes the right balance between short- and long-term strategies to improve financial performance by building a risk-aware culture throughout the organization. SAS’ Risk Research and Quantitative Solutions Team is seeking interns to assist with projects such as producing software for a specified area of advanced analytics or advanced analytics-based business.

As an intern, you will be assisting with projects involving groups in IT such as Enterprise Solutions, Operations and Infrastructure Services, Knowledge Management, and Global Hosting and Cloud Services.

Pre-Sales: Solutions Architect or Systems Engineering

The Pre-Sales teams partner with our sales teams on technical activities to maximize revenue opportunities, while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Do you possess a technical aptitude to solve complex big data business problems? In this internship position, you’ll have the opportunity to learn SAS core competencies in advanced analytics, data management, or visualization. Pre-Sales interns are part of a team providing consultative services for our customers, producing solution proposals for our customers.

What are we looking for?

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking a Bachelor’s degree in a US Based school.
  • Programming experience. So you know how to code and stuff.
  • This is a 10-12 week internship where you will actually be a real person so you have to be able to work for all of Summer 2018.
  • Students must not be graduating prior to the beginning of the internship, and be enrolled to return to school after the internship ends.

What type of skills do we prefer?

 

  • Coding matters. Java, HTML, bash, perl, python, php, etc
  • Linux, Unix, or Windows would be great.
  • Web development experience is a +.
  • If you know SAS programming that’s an added bonus!
  • Teamwork. With a dash of independence.
  • Leadership. You sit in the front row of the class.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher. Going to class is #vital
  • Emails. You have to know how to write them.
  • Talking. You have to do it effectively.
