SAS brings state of the art technology and capabilities in data management, analytics, visualizations and workflow to support the digital transformation for justice and public safety (JPS) organizations.  Our team is seeking a Solution Architect to provide pre-sales support for successful selling and deployment of SAS solutions.  This person will join a team of industry and technical subject matter experts and will be responsible for presales activities related to both sales pipeline development and progression of opportunities through the sales lifecycle.  A successful candidate will use their broad knowledge of SAS technologies, sales support and solution development process to engage in solution innovation and business use case development – including assessment of business challenges, identification of data and analytic needsand awareness of competitive standing. Location: Preference for Detroit, Michigan – open to remote workers.  This position assists the sales team with solution development and sales activities to maximize revenue opportunities and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.  Position will leverage strong knowledge of SAS products and capabilities to participate in and, at times, lead in solution development and design processes.  Position will relate technical concepts and capabilities to SAS applications and users needs and oversees the technical progress of ongoing services.  Position will also support SAS consulting to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of business goals, value and adoption.  Primary Responsibilities: - Builds a trusted relationship with territory Account Executive and client account to provide practical and theoretical guidance in the business value of proposed solution and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction. - Strategizes with sales team on objectives for customer meetings, understands how this activity relates to overall sales plan and provides functional solution leadership for sales opportunities. - To develop and leverages knowledge of the criminal justice and public safety domain to increase SAS’s credibility primarily in sales situations. - Uses domain and technical knowledge to conduct discovery meetings to collect, analyze, clarify and document business requirements during the sales cycle to support the implementation team and to produce a detailed solution proposal. - Scopes and defines work effort, resource plan and estimates cost on phase/project. Conducts project requirements gathering. - Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic, senior level solution demonstrations and presentations outlining the functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits of the SAS solutions as they apply to client needs. - Installs SAS solutions and any required supporting products for knowledge sharing and demonstration purposes. - Assists in the response to RFI/RFP’s utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting thorough and compelling answers. - Provides reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, projects and technologies. - Participates in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings and assigned solution areas, how each solution addresses business challenges, competitive information to identify how our solution stands apart, and what challenges/limitations may be encountered. - Understands, utilizes and communicates best practice methodologies internally and externally. - Provides support for regional business development activities and marketing events. - Works proactively with Systems Engineers, Technical Architects and other Solutions Architects to strategize on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.   Additional Responsibilities: - Participates in workshops during requirements and design sessions - Liaise with sales, services , and technical support teams to determine best action to implement solution at customer environment - Participates in solution positioning and marketing event and activities - Assist in the production of marketing materials - Keeps pace with market and competitive trends - Liaise with the product management and R&D functions to advance the capabilities of the SAS offerings     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must have advanced knowledge of SAS technology, architecture and resources - Must have advanced knowledge of core SAS principles related to the application of data management, business intelligence and advanced analysis techniques - Must have demonstrable administration and end-user experience knowledge of SAS Visual Investigator - Must be able to demonstration strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills - Strong group facilitation skills - Demonstrated law enforcement industry knowledge preferred (publishes articles, leads demand generation activities, and speaks in the business track at conferences/events) - Clear understanding of sales strategies and cycles - Creative technical and organizational problem solving - Must be able to self-initiate and work proactively, both independently and as part of a team - Travel as business requirements dictate at management discretion - Fluency in Spanish highly desirable   Education: - Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science or MIS. - Advanced degree focusing on data science or analytics.   Experience:   - At least 6 years supporting SAS product and service sales   - Typically requires five years of systems engineering, project management, applications development, technical architecture and design and/or customer support.   - Relevant exposure to the criminal justice or law enforcement domain, in an operational or technical capacity is preferred. As a Product Manager on the Cloud & Platform Technologies team, you will be responsible for shaping SAS’s advanced analytics platform into an indispensable solution for enterprise customers across the globe.
